On Saturday, May 2, 2026 (Reiwa 8), we held a "Wild Edible Plant Foraging Experience (with cooking and meal)" at Uda City's "Takagi Furusato-kan."

Participants of all ages joined us on the day. Guided by the instructor, they strolled around the facility, observing and picking wild spring plants. They learned about the types, characteristics, and ways to eat wild plants by touching and smelling them.
Afterward, they took part in a cooking class using the foraged wild plants. Participants enjoyed working together to create dishes that showcased seasonal ingredients, such as tempura and aemono (dressed dishes).

We received many comments from participants, such as:
"I'd like to participate again in a different season."
"It was fun to cook together, it created a sense of unity."
"It was an opportunity to re-evaluate my daily diet."
Furthermore, this event was made possible with the extensive cooperation of local businesses, including flyer distribution and social media promotion.
Uda preserves many food cultures and wisdoms of life that have been passed down with nature. We will continue to plan events that allow people to experience the unique charm of Uda.
