Uda City, located in the eastern part of Nara Prefecture, has long been known as a region dotted with famous cherry blossom spots. In this land where mountain village scenery and historical backgrounds converge, cherry blossoms, from single trees to rows of trees, each with a different charm, announce the arrival of spring.

First, "Haibara Ryoro no Sakura" is a row of cherry trees in the Haibara district of Uda City, a place cherished by locals as a spring promenade. The cherry blossom tunnel that stretches through the gentle mountain scenery becomes covered in pale petals during full bloom, enveloping visitors. Because it has not been overly commercialized, it is a hidden gem where one can enjoy cherry blossom viewing in relative peace, and it is beloved as a spring scene that blends into the daily lives of local residents.

Next, standing within the grounds of Butsuryu-ji Temple, known as an ancient temple in Uda City, is the "Butsuryu-ji Sennen Sakura," said to be around 900 years old. Known as one of the oldest trees in Nara Prefecture, this cherry tree boasts a magnificent trunk and branches. This single cherry tree blooming in the tranquility of a mountain temple exudes an air of dignity, as if it has watched over the ages, symbolizing spring in Uda.

And one of the most famous cherry blossoms in Uda City is the "Matabei Sakura," associated with a Sengoku period warlord. This large weeping cherry tree is named as such because it stands on what is believed to be the site of Goto Matabei's residence. Its towering presence, standing alone in a vast rice field, is breathtaking, and during full bloom, it offers a colorful spring vista with the peaches and canola blossoms in the background.
Each cherry blossom in Uda City has its own history, scenery, and story. The cherry blossoms blooming in the tranquility of the mountain village offer a different charm than urban cherry blossom viewing, allowing visitors to experience a leisurely spring.
