A food experience event where people connected to Uda come together: "Spices and Gin, Udasu." Vol. 2

"Spices and Gin, Udasu. Vol.2 ," to be held in Uda City, Nara Prefecture, is an experiential project where people connected to Uda can meet and connect loosely through the event.

The event will be held at Gohan Cafe SOU , a restaurant in Uda city. Chef Jor, who is originally from Uda and works at Haraiso Sparkle in Higobashi, Osaka, will be in charge of cooking. He will be serving spicy dishes incorporating ingredients from Uda. Koba will be in charge of pairing the gin with the dishes, proposing new flavors through combinations with craft gin.

This is a food experience event that will be held in collaboration with local businesses to create a special one-day experience.

The special Uda menu for this event will be a red wine stew made with beef tendon from Yamato Haruna beef from the long-established meat restaurant Ushigen and sake lees from Kubo Honke Brewery, a sake brewery founded in 1702 .

The combination of the delicious flavor of Japanese Black beef raised in the natural surroundings of Uda and the fermentation culture of sake brewing, which has been around for over 300 years, in one dish will embody the concept of this event.

On the day, we will be offering spicy dishes and approximately 15 types of craft gin from Japan and abroad.

This event focuses on food and alcohol, and aims to be a place where relationships are naturally formed over the time spent sharing flavors, rather than forcing interaction. This design philosophy is the core of this project.

At the previous event, there was lively interaction between business operators and participants over the counter, and the event became a place for conversation while enjoying food around the tables.

The calm atmosphere that enveloped the venue and the excitement in the air spoke to the power of the blissful moments that food and gin can create.

The magazine will also feature photos of the venue that convey the atmosphere.

The organizers of this event, andground LLC, are currently preparing to open a gin distillery in Uda City. Rather than simply setting up the facilities, they are focusing on the kind of culture they can build on the land of Uda.

This event is one example of this.

The idea is to connect this to the future of distilleries and the creation of new value for the region. For more information on the background and thoughts behind this project, please see the interview article with the organizers (external site).
